Charlton look to be on the verge of signing striker Robert Earnshaw from Derby and defender Steven Pressley from Celtic.

Earnshaw chose Derby ahead of The Addicks two months ago and joined for a fee of £3.5 million. The move has not worked out however and Plymouth manager Ian Holloway let slip of the move in his post-match press conference last night.

When asked about late transfer business, Holloway said, "There's already one! Earnshaw's gone from Derby - already - to Charlton, which seems ludicrous to me.

Pressley looks to be joining on loan from the Scottish champions after choosing a move to Parkhead over The Valley in January. He has failed to become a regular starter for Celtic though, and boss Alan Pardew may finally get his man.

Another man linked with a return to SE7 is Manchester City right-back Danny Mills. Mills played for Charlton from 1997 to 1999 before joining Leeds and with French star Yassin Moutaoukil injured for a month, Mills may be brought in on a short-term deal.
