Pardew Faces Striker Dilemma

By Paul Crisp
Friday, 21st September 2007
Charlton manager Alan Pardew has a tough decision on his hands for Saturday's home game against Leicester City (3pm), with all four senior strikers fit.
Luke Varney made an impressive home debut in the win over Norwich, but his replacement Izale McLeod won both of Andy Reid's penalites in the last ten minutes and looked sharp and hungry.

Chris Iwelumo will be expected to keep his place as the target man, and Svetoslav Todorov should be fit after missing out on Tuesday night. Todorov has scored three goals in his last three games and linked up well with Iwelumo against Crystal Palace and Colchester.

The back four performed well against The Canaries so Sam Sodje will have to wait for his full debut, and Yassin Moutaouakil will miss out.

Darren Ambrose was rested due to the birth of his daughter but after a great performance from Lloyd Sam, which saw him recieve a standing ovation, the wide man will have to settle with a place on the bench.

Possible team for Leicester: Weaver, Mills, Fortune, Bougherra, Powell, Sam, Semedo, Zheng, Reid (c), Iwelumo, Varney

Subs: Randolph, Sodje, McLeod, Todorov, Ambrose
